Recap

Luxol Sherries dominated Tigers BT in an overwhelming 127-64 victory, with Darron Howard and Nathan Xuereb leading the charge. From the start, Luxol set the pace, and their relentless pressure proved too much for the Tigers to handle.

The game opened with Tigers’ Jhun Jhun Lisondra knocking down a three-pointer, but Luxol quickly responded through Xuereb’s fast-break layup. Howard soon made his mark, sinking a three-pointer, followed by a flurry of fast-break points from him and Caleb Jones McCrary. Luxol’s defence forced multiple turnovers, allowing Howard and Stefan Cappello to capitalise on the break, with Howard hitting another three to extend their lead to 19-8. By the end of the quarter, Luxol held a commanding 30-10 lead, with Howard tallying eight points in the first period alone.

Luxol continued their relentless pressure in the second quarter, stretching their lead even further. Howard was unstoppable, scoring repeatedly off turnovers and fast breaks, racking up 15 points midway through the quarter. Cappello also added to the scoreline with a series of layups, while the Tigers struggled to find answers, despite Keith Micaller’s efforts in the paint. By halftime, Luxol had surged ahead 65-22, with Howard already amassing 27 points.

The third quarter saw more of the same, with Luxol’s dominance on full display. McCrary threw down a dunk off a fast break, and Howard continued to pile on the points, surpassing the 30-point mark with back-to-back threes. Xuereb found his range from beyond the arc as well, adding two consecutive three-pointers to push Luxol’s lead to 82-25. Cappello also chipped in with a string of layups as Luxol’s offence flourished. Tigers BT could only watch as the gap widened to 102-37 by the end of the third.

The final quarter was a formality as Luxol continued to score at will. Xuereb added a few more three-pointers to bring his total to 30 points, while Schembri hit from deep to further cement Luxol’s control. Tigers BT found a few baskets through Lisondra and Brown, but it was too little, too late. Luxol’s dominance carried through to the final buzzer, sealing a 127-64 win.
