Recap

Hibernians maintained their position as league leaders with a commanding performance against SiGMA Depiro. The game began with Depiro’s Cornelius Cameron scoring an early three-pointer, but Hibernians quickly responded through Tedrick Wolfe and Derek Brown, who combined for successive baskets to give their team a narrow edge.

The first quarter saw the Paolites steadily pull away, with Wolfe’s fast-break layups and Matthew Gouder’s three-pointer pushing the lead to double digits. Brown’s dominance in the paint was pivotal, and his driving layup in the final minute ensured a 28-18 advantage at the break.

Depiro attempted to fight back in the second quarter, led by Brandon Porter’s relentless scoring. Porter’s three-point play and subsequent layups kept the Mtarfa side within striking distance. However, Christian Narciso’s clan regained control as Brown’s jump shots and fast-break layups widened the gap. Wolfe added a crucial three-pointer, while Gouder’s consistent scoring extended the lead to 49-40 by halftime.

The third quarter proved decisive as Hibernians tightened their defence and capitalised on turnovers. Ivan Demcesen contributed with second-chance points, while Wolfe’s athleticism shone through with fast-break layups and a fadeaway jumper. Brown continued to dominate, adding another three-pointer and a fast-break dunk. Depiro’s Nikola Bozovic managed to hit key shots, including a three-pointer, but Hibernians entered the final quarter with a comfortable 81-60 lead.

The fourth quarter saw Hibernians seal the game. Wolfe capped his stellar performance with a dunk and a series of layups, bringing his total to 32 points. Brown’s second-chance opportunities and a tip-in maintained the momentum, while Gouder’s late free throws added to the tally. Despite Porter’s final efforts for Depiro, Hibernians cruised to victory.
